First real post.

So much has happened since my last blog post on blogspot back in 2017. Am not going to get too detailed (you can check the FB public page for a rundown of most of the records that came out since then and also most of the gigs) and of course there’s the ever changing socio-political landscape but… you know as much about that as I do I’m sure lol.

But… the recent past has seen the release of more than a few recordings I am very happy about. In addition to the solo k7 (seen above) on Notice Recordings, there was the duo with Peter Brotzmann (on Relative Pitch), the duo with Joe McPhee (CvsD), an expanded Stirrup record (lightbox meets Stirrup) on Cuneiform, A fun set with Frode Gjerstad, William Parker and Steve Swell (on Fundacja Słuchaj) as well as a more somber one with Frode and Matt Shipp (Iluso). A trio with Luis Lopes and Ståle Liavik Solberg on Multi-Kulti came out. Ballister released a new one on Aerophonic as well. Recorded live in Moscow it’s titled Znachki Stilyag and if you know Russian, you know it’s a little nonsensical but… isn’t everything these days.
Am sure you can find any of these online or even in some finer record stores.

In the download arena there’s been a bunch as well… A set from Ken V and I recorded around the same time as “Resistance” on Catalytic, trios with Joao Almeida and Joao Pereira, trios with Carlos Zingaro and Alvaro Rosso. If you subscribe to Catalytic (you should!) you can also hear a recent recording of Farida Amadou, Simon Camatta and I recorded the day before “Syrup for the Queen” with just Simon and I (available on my bandcamp page).
Phew… I’m sure I forgot at least one recent release but… I’m sure it was a good one. 🙂

On other fronts, I’ve been busy doing other things than running from airports to train stations these last months. Still playing music at home (and a few outdoor socially distanced gigs in the warmer months) but had more time to listen to records, paint, read, sew, cook… Hopefully I can get back to work soon but have to admit the less active lifestyle hasn’t been as dull as I might have expected.
One other thing I should do more of is work on the “website”. I’ve been lazy and using Facebook as my site but… I am growing a little weary of the politics there (not that I was under any illusions before)(turnkey totalitarianism as some call it) but… why not get a little more independant. True that the traffic is there, but… its not like I have big traffic anywhere anyway.
So… signing off for now. Am going to allow comments here but they will be moderated. You wouldn’t believe how many spam comments got left here even before actually writing more than “hello”. hellololol

Thanks for reading this far down. Stay safe and “sane” if possible. More soon I promise.
